RC Planes For Everybody's Pleasure
Getting your pilot wings, getting your license to fly and your first craft is a dream that many of us share, and that few of us actually realize. This is tragic because anyone can afford it, one day, if they scrimp and save. For example, the money you spend on a new car could easily go to lessons and a small, safe, used aircraft, but you have to prioritize. With enough saving, one day you can get your wings. Until then, you can fly RC planes, and maybe make some money on it. The joy of flying is all there, the freedom, the thrill, the beauty of those red wings against that blue sky. It's all there, and it's there for everyone. Even if you're just a ten year old kid with a paper route,[..]

The RC Hobby
One of the booming hobbies these days is RC. So, just what does RC mean and what is it? RC stands for remote control. It is a method of controlling a device by use of a second device that is separate from the first. The first successful example of remote control came in 1903 when Leonardo Torres Quevada presented a device called the Telekino at the Paris Academy of Science. Telekino was a little robot that executed certain commands transmitted by electromagnetic waves. One of the most common and well known uses for RC today is in the field of electronics. Most people are familiar with remote control devices designed to operate televisions and other home electronic devices. These[..]

Dissecting Remote Control Cars
type="text/javascript"> Electric remote control cars use high capacity compact batteries to drive brushed or brushless motors via an electronic speed control. They run on small but powerful electric motors and rechargeable nickel metal hydride, nickel-cadmium, or lithium polymer cells. Electric batteries take a while to charge, but quick chargers can help save time. High-performance motors must be allowed to cool down after use, in order to avoid demagnetizing the permanent magnets. Electric cars tend to be lighter than nitro models because they have fewer components in the drive system. They also have more consistent torque and faster throttle response than nitro vehicles. Fuel-powered[..]

To get the full enjoyment out of this[..]
Origins of the Remote Control Car
The beginnings of the remote control car can be traced back to the 1940s, when small, nitromethane-powered engines first entered the market. At the time, the only way to control an engine-powered model car was with a tether. While these cars were fast, they merely ran in a circle from the tether. In the late 1960s, the first miniaturized solid state radio control systems were introduced, allowing model cars to have servo-controlled steering, throttle, and brake functionality that could be remotely controlled from a transmitter unit. Several early commercially viable remote control cars became available by 1966, produced by El-Gi (Elettronica Giocattoli), a company from Reggio Emilia,[..]

Battery Secrets For Your Radio Controlled Boats
Modern radio controlled boats usually use nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries to power the engine. Their advantage lies in their ability to discharge energy rapidly. Older-style batteries could hold more power, but their slower energy release meant lower horsepower and thus lower speeds. Additional advantages to using Ni-Cd batteries include their rapid recharge rate and reasonable price. Battery Basics Individual batteries are called cells and Ni-Cd cells each produce about 1.2 volts. If you have 6 cells joined together, your battery pack is rated at 7.2 volts (6 cells x 1.2 volts). As you add cells the voltage goes up, but so does the weight. You have to find the best combination for each[..]

Due to this the price the customer buys can be higher than from companies who buy direct from the manufacturer. This is one of the reasons that cheap rc cars can be sold as such a low cost if the company involved is prepared to put in the work. What this does mean is that stock levels can be trickier due to the time it takes to import the cars. Nitro Cars are one of the most popular mid range cars so quiet high competition so if you do see these cars sold at[..]

Tools For Assembling RC Toys
Try building a RC car, truck, plane, boat or buggy with incomplete building tools and you'll realize how stressful it can become. Some people think that using less than the quality tools they can purchase is going to do just good. But your RC toy is surely not going to be irreparable after just a month (well, maybe except for an intense damage inflicted to your car due to crashes). This means that your building tools have to stick around as long as your RC toy is functional as well. It will completely defeat the purpose of saving money for building tools, if you are going to eventually buy a new tool kit just after several times of using it. The money that you spend for less quality[..]

RC Gas Car
Building and running an RC gas car can be a very satisfying hobby in deed. Though it is true you can buy an out of the box solution and be running your car within an hour, in my opinion, it is far less satisfying than building your own RC gas car, learning about the systems that go into it and how to make adjustments to improve the performance of your driving tool as you participate in competitions. This knowledge also allows you to quickly assess any damage that is sustained whilst in operation. Servicing and repair are also aided by the knowledge gained by you having built the RC gas car in the first place. So you have built your beast painted the body and tested the radio transmitter[..]

How to Maintain RC Cars
Just like a full-sized car, proper maintenance will lengthen the lifetime of your remote control car, protect your investment, and help your vehicle operate at peak performance. First, consider what you need to do before you let it run and before you change out the battery. Is there any damage on the tires or on the structure of the car? Are all the screws tightened? These are just the basics, but you'll be surprised how much grief they spare you. All the wires should be connected, especially where they meet the batteries, and if you have adjustable shocks, make sure that they are set for the kind of terrain you want to run. Unless you have decided that you want some interesting weight[..]

How to Clean Your RC Truck
To cleanse the screw heads underneath the chassis, spray denatured alcohol on the screw heads and then pick the dirt up with the help of a paper clip. It is recommended to use denatured alcohol because it works a lot better than plain rubbing alcohol or motor cleaner. Compressed air also works better for cleaning NTC3 after a good day of bashing. If you need something inexpensive, a simple piece of cloth will do the trick for you. The soft wool or cotton wipes off the cloth will clean the grime like magic. Nevertheless, one has to be sure not leave any loose threads going into the truck. A small paint brush can also be an alternative to clean hard-to-reach areas and cleanse them gently.[..]

I am not talking about real guns, but replicas of original firearms. These guns are known as Airsoft guns. The Airsoft guns are used as personal collection or for gaming. Airsoft gaming is safe because only plastic rounds are used as pellets and the velocity of the gun is less than 700 feet per second, but make sure the face and eyes are protected. You can see that there[..]

The Age of the RC Car
We are currently in a generation when people stay indoors and sit down either on a computer, on a games console or watching television for hours every day leaving us all getting fatter and more excluded from society. It is the conclusion of many scientific studies that people are not spending enough time in the company of others making the interpersonal skills of many young people underdeveloped. This is changing for one group of people who have found a hobby that is not so much new but more a rebirth of a hobby kids had 20 years ago. This is the hobby or remote controlled cars. This is also known as radio controlled cars. When I was a kid we used to have remote controlled cars although[..]
